How to Choose a Wall Light
Three questions point the light the right way
A wall light works at eye level and close up, so the choice runs deeper than wattage. Answer three questions in order: where the light goes, what the eye meets, how the fitting meets the wall.
Where the light goes first — downward wash is the largest family: slim bars, cylinders, discs and visored discs that light the wall and ground below; up-and-down bars trace a facade above and below the fitting; accent heads and square beams highlight architectural details; spheres and ring panels glow as visible light nodes
What the eye meets second — angled chambers and visor caps hide the source, louvered openings cut it blade by blade, bottom glass and opal diffusers present it deliberately — pick the structure by how close people will pass

Hotel Walkways: Concealed Sources at Eye Level
At eye level a wall light has one job above all — light the passage without exposing the source. The BL-LSL120L hides its LED inside an angled inner chamber, so guests see a warm band of glow on the wall and floor, never the diode itself. The body projects just 36 mm from the wall, keeping guest corridors visually calm. Start with the BL-LSL120L for passages that need to stay calm and glare-free.
Facades with Rhythm: Up-and-Down Bars
Repeated vertical light lines give a facade its rhythm. The GAS2416A throws matched warm beams above and below its 300 mm body — 2 × 10 W, 2000 lm — and the same shell is available as a down-only version, the GAS2417A, where one direction tells the story better. GAS2416A is the volume choice for this role.
Entrances and Details: Accent Where It Counts
Entrance details earn their own light. The GAS125MF throws a 20 W accent beam across stone and timber detailing from a compact 150 × 125 mm square body, drawing the eye to the craftsmanship rather than the fitting. Where a highlight needs to be aimed, the adjustable GAS2415A points a 90-degree head at the exact spot.
Curtain Walls and Engineered Walls: Recessed First
On an engineered wall the installation decides before the photometrics do. The 55218 sits flush in the wall as a 320 mm linear strip — 9 W, IP65 — reading as a clean slot of light with no visible housing. If the wall cannot take a recessed cut-out, the surface-mounted families carry the same light directions without the recess.

Recessed or surface mounted - which one fits my wall?
A recessed fitting (linear strip, louvered square, concrete housing) needs a cut-out in the wall and sits flush; a surface-mounted body needs only a fixing point and projects from 36 mm to 163 mm. If the wall is a curtain wall or cannot be cut, choose the surface-mounted families; where the wall is engineered to take a slot, recessed fittings read as clean lines of light.
How is glare controlled across the range?
Each family handles it by structure: slim bars hide the LED inside an angled chamber, round discs use a visor cap that blocks steep viewing angles, recessed squares cut the light through louvers blade by blade, and bottom-glass cylinders present the source low, away from eye level. Pick the structure that matches how close people will pass.
How far does a wall light project from the wall?
From 36 mm on the slimmest bars to 163 mm on deep back-plate cylinders. Projection is a spatial choice - corridors favour slim bodies, open facades can carry depth - and it is not the same thing as glare control, which is decided by the optical structure.
Can these be installed on a curtain wall?
Only if the wall can accept a recessed cut-out for the recessed families; surface-mounted models need a fixing substrate instead. When the wall cannot be cut or drilled as required, choose surface-mounted fittings and confirm the fixings with the facade engineer before ordering.
Can I keep one look but change the light direction?
Yes, within the shell families: the GAS2416A up-and-down bar shares its housing with the down-only GAS2417A, and the round GAS2414A / GAS2413A pair works the same way. Note that sharing a shell does not mean identical output or control options - check each model's page.
IP65 or IP54 - which do I need?
IP65 (dust-tight, jet-proof) for exposed facades, open walkways and washing zones; IP54 covers sheltered, decorative positions such as under canopies. The decorative sphere and panel families run IP54, while the engineering families are IP65 or IP66.
Do you have low-voltage options?
The LSL series runs on 220 V or 24 V depending on the model; the rest of the range is AC mains with built-in drivers. Confirm the voltage stated on each product page before planning the site wiring.
Which wall light suits a hotel corridor?
Start with the concealed-source BL-LSL120L: a warm, glare-free wash at eye level and a 36 mm projection keep guest passages calm. The LSL square and half-moon versions share the same light language in different proportions.
